Flexane® Belt Repair Kit
Farmers use these rubber rolls to flatten out hay after cutting the hay to speed up the drying process during harvesting. Occassiionally rocks will tear apart sections of these rubber rolls sripping off the rubger coating and reducing their effectiveness for drying the hay. Resurfacint eh entire roll with new rubber comes with a cost of $1,500/each, plus enormous "downtime" for the farmer waiting for the roll to come back to him.
The farmer needs a "do-it-yourself" process to repair their own rubber rolls! The torn areas are sandblasted or abraded using a wire brush. Cleaner Blend 300 is applied to the metal areas to clean the metal shaft from all contaminants. Next, the metal shaft is primed with FL-10. Then Fl-20 is applied to all metal and rubber areas the Flexane 80 Putty will conme into contact with. Flexane 80 Putty is applied to the worn area and using a sharp tool "grooves" are marked into the urethane to simulate the current rolls configuration. Farmers now are able to repair their worn rubber rolls in one day, and their total cost for repairing their rolls is $100. A tremendous cost savings from the $1,500 to send out the rolls for repair.
